Refreshing Mānuka Watermelon Iced Tea

Refreshing Mānuka Watermelon Iced Tea

When the weather heats up, there’s nothing better than an ice-cold drink that’s fruity, refreshing and simple to make. This Mānuka Watermelon Iced Tea combines juicy fresh watermelon with black tea and Melora Mānuka Honey, finished with fresh mint for a cooling summer serve.

For an extra burst of flavour, add Melora Multifloral Mānuka with Lemon Honey Squeeze. The lemon brings a bright citrus twist that works beautifully with the sweetness of the watermelon and the deeper flavour of black tea.

Perfect for summer afternoons, BBQs, picnics or whenever you need something refreshing over plenty of ice.

Ingredients

Makes 1 glass

  • 1 black tea bag
  • 60ml hot water
  • 60g fresh watermelon
  • 25ml Melora Mānuka Honey
  • Plenty of ice
  • Fresh mint, to garnish
  • Melora Multifloral Mānuka with Lemon Honey Squeeze, for a citrus twist

Method

1. Brew the tea

Place the black tea bag in 60ml of hot water and allow it to steep for approximately 3 minutes. Remove the tea bag and leave the tea to cool.

2. Muddle the watermelon

Add the fresh watermelon to the bottom of your serving glass. Add the Melora Mānuka Honey and muddle together until the watermelon begins to break down and releases its juice.

3. Add the ice

Fill the glass generously with ice.

4. Pour

Slowly pour the cooled black tea over the watermelon and ice, allowing the flavours to come together.

5. Give it a lemon twist

Add a squeeze of Melora Multifloral Mānuka with Lemon Honey Squeeze for a fresh citrus note that complements the watermelon.

6. Garnish and serve

Finish with fresh mint and serve immediately while beautifully chilled.

A Refreshing Summer Combination

Watermelon and mint are made for hot summer days, while black tea gives this drink enough depth to make it feel a little more grown-up than a traditional fruit cooler.

The addition of Mānuka honey provides the sweetness, while the Melora Lemon Mānuka Honey Squeeze adds a convenient hit of honey and citrus in one squeeze.

Serve it in a tall glass packed with ice and plenty of fresh mint for an easy summer drink that looks every bit as good as it tastes.

Make It for a Crowd

Hosting a BBQ or summer get-together? Simply multiply the quantities and prepare a larger batch. Keep the brewed tea and watermelon mixture chilled, then add plenty of ice, mint and a squeeze of Lemon Mānuka Honey just before serving.

Fresh watermelon. Ice-cold tea. Mānuka honey. A squeeze of lemon. Summer in a glass. 🍉🍋🍯
